A long-term study has shown that infant lemurs born to older mothers are less likely to get hurt than those born to younger mothers. The findings are based on an analysis of medical records for more than 200 lemurs that were monitored for more than 35 years. The results suggest that infants born to older mothers are less likely to get bitten, possibly because older mothers are better at protecting their babies during fights. Read more in PLOS ONE.
